Manchester City Women players Rico Lewis and Max Alleyne recently joined a special football event for young girls in Seoul, as part of the British Embassy Seoul's "Girls Can Dream, Girls Can Achieve" campaign. The event aimed to build confidence and inspire girls through football, with around 30 participants taking part in the programme. The day began with a football coaching session led by Manchester City in the Community coaches, focusing on technical exercises, games, and teamwork activities. Rico Lewis and Max Alleyne also took part in a Q&A session, discussing their own journeys in football and explaining the importance of hard work, resilience, and believing in oneself. The participants received messages from campaign ambassadors NMIXX, as well as Manchester City Women players Lauren Hemp and Beth Mead, who offered words of encouragement. Manchester City Women's involvement in the event provided another opportunity to use football to make a positive impact away from the pitch during their pre-season tour. The club's commitment to using football as a tool for social change is a testament to their dedication to empowering young girls and women through the sport. As the new season gets underway, Manchester City Women continue to lead the way in the FA WSL, with a strong start to the campaign seeing them 1st in the league table, 55 points from 22 games, and a recent form of WWLWW.
