Manchester City Women will unveil their 2026/27 Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures on Thursday, July 30. The Blues enter the new season as defending champions after finishing first in the 2025 campaign with 55 points, four clear of Arsenal W, and a +43 goal difference (62 scored, 19 conceded).
When will the fixtures be announced?
The WSL schedule will be revealed at 10:00 UK time on July 30, with City’s opening match set for the weekend of September 4-6. The final match of 2026 will take place on December 18-20, followed by a return to action on January 8-10, 2027. The 2026/27 season will conclude on May 22, 2027.
What’s new for the 2026/27 season?
The WSL will expand to 14 teams, adding four more league matches for City. Birmingham City and Crystal Palace return to the top flight, while Charlton Athletic will make their WSL debut after defeating Leicester City in the play-offs. City will also play six UEFA Champions League group phase matches between September and December.
Fan experience updates
Following a successful trial, fans will once again be able to consume alcohol in the stands at WSL matches, except in the Joie Stadium’s Family Area and specific blocks at the Etihad. Season ticket sales have already hit record numbers, with demand higher than ever.
City’s pre-season training has begun, and manager Andrée Jeglertz’s side will aim to defend their WSL crown after a dominant 2025 campaign, where they led the league from mid-November and maintained a perfect home record.
